The mining, metallurgical and other industries produce contaminated water streams that contain dissolved metals or other solids in the form of sulphate. In most jurisdictions, this wastewater must be treated prior to discharge or re-use.
BioteQ’s BioSulphide® and ChemSulphide™ Processes can selectively recover metals from contaminated industrial wastewater, producing a saleable metal product and clean water that can be safely discharged to the environment. Metals recovered in saleable products include copper, zinc, nickel, and cobalt. Toxic metals such as arsenic, antimony, lead, cadmium, and manganese can be removed effectively.
BioteQ’s Sulf-IX™ Process can be used to remove sulphate from wastewater.
Together, BioteQ’s metal recovery and sulphate removal technologies can provide a complete water treatment solution for many industrial applications. Click here for more information about BioteQ’s technology.
- BioteQ’s process removes metals and sulphate from industrial wastewater; metals recovered can be sold to offset treatment costs.
- BioteQ’s process produces treated water that meets strict water quality criteria, and can be safely discharged to the environment or recycled back to the industrial process.
- BioteQ’s processes cost less than alternative treatments, both in initial capital and long-term operating costs.
