BioteQ Environmental Technologies Inc. is an expanding company providing innovative design-build-own-operate solutions in wastewater treatment to industry worldwide.
BioteQ is currently seeking a Plant Manager in Bisbee, Arizona, a great role for an engineer or supervisor who enjoys hands-on operations management. The candidate must have a strong technical background, demonstrated leadership skills, and at least several years of recent experience in operating chemical, hydrometallurgical, or industrial wastewater treatment process.
This position involves a combination of supervision, management, and hands-on operation of a Biosulfide water treatment facility. The facility is a Joint Venture between BioteQ Environmental Technologies and Freeport McMoRan Incorporated (FMI). Reporting to our Global Operations Manager in Vancouver, Canada, the Plant Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operation including coordinating activities and maintaining good working relationship with FMI site management and mine personnel.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills
- University degree in Engineering or other related discipline
- Strong Safety and Health experience and knowledge
- Good communication skills (both written and oral)
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Mechanically inclined
- Computer skills including proficiency in; MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Office
- Plant commissioning experience an asset
- Ability to travel within US and internationally
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in the areas of safety and environment and ensure that the plant and personnel are fully compliant with all applicable safety (MSHA) and environmental regulations, and BioteQ’s/ FMI’s corporate policies
- Ensure that the plant mechanical and process availabilities meet budget targets
- Ensure that process monitoring and plant production data are accurately and properly recorded and reported to head office in Canada
- Manage the supply of all plant consumables and parts to support the plant availability targets
- Manage the operating manual and plant standard operating procedures
- Manage all aspects of human resources on site and set personnel schedules
- Coordinate new operator training and ongoing professional development of the staff members
- Promote operational efficiency through plant optimization, budget improvements, and management of all resources
- Hands on plant operation
- Provide call-out support to the plant on a rotational basis
Compensation for this position includes base salary of $60,000 – 70,000 plus eligibility for safety, environmental and production bonuses.
