BioteQ Environmental Technologies Inc. is an industrial water treatment company that applies innovative technologies and operating expertise to solve challenging water treatment problems for global leaders in the resource and power generation industries. BioteQ is looking for a new process engineering graduate to join our team on a contract basis to support our lab and engineering teams in developing new technologies in the lab and piloting our technologies in the field.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop new technologies and to gain on-the-ground experience in implementing innovative water treatment processes. The ideal candidate is accountable, organized and hard-working, and is excited about the opportunity to travel to remote sites and gain hands-on experience.
Responsibilities
- Performing experiments involving water treatment chemistry and communicating results
- Planning test work programs
- Organizing and maintaining lab equipment
- Participate in constructing and operating pilot plant(s), communicating with head office and troubleshooting issues in the field
- Contributing to the design of pilot plants using lab results and the design of full scale processes and plants utilising pilot plant results
- Ensuring safety of yourself and others
Requirements
- Eligible for registration as an EIT in BC
- Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy or Environmental Engineering
- Experience in developing and executing lab test programs, writing lab reports, planning lab and pilot program work
- Ability to work with limited supervision at times
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report-writing
- Strong background in process chemistry
- Pro-active, collaborative, and results-driven
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally for up to 4 weeks at a time
