This is a combined position of a process mechanic and water treatment plant operator. The successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic, willingness to learn and ability to follow directions. You will promote a high standard of health and safety throughout the operation as well as maintain excellent customer relationships and promote a strong team atmosphere. This position requires the employee to work shifts and participate in on-call rotations and may require some travel including out of the country.
Requirements
- Process/Industrial mechanical experience
- Skilled in the principles of mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, troubleshooting and analytical problem solving
- PLC and electrical experience an asset
- Exposure to centrifugal, positive displacement, hydraulic pumps, liquid ring compressors, agitators, filter press, grinding mill, PLC actuated solenoids and sensors
- Familiar with plant operations
- Computer skills including proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook
- Forklift and front-end loader experience
- High school diploma
- Valid drivers license
- Legally entitled to work in the United States
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical problems, provide quick and innovative solutions and repairs for mechanical equipment breakdowns
- Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections
- Comply with all areas of safety and environment and ensure that the plant and personnel are fully compliant with all applicable safety and environmental regulations and BioteQ's corporate policies
- Ensure that the plant operates in compliance with regulations at all levels including health, safety and environment
- Assure production goals and targets are met in accordance with established budgets by operating and maintaining all aspects of the plant effectively, this will include but not limited to:
- Data collection and entry
- Reagent mixing and pump calibration
- Filter press operation and concentrate handling
- Lab duties; assaying and titrations
- General house keeping
