Sulphide reagents are widely used for mineral processing and hydrometallurgical operations as well as in other industries outside of mining. Global shortages and uncertainty of supply combined with rising demand have driven up prices for sulphide reagents, creating opportunity for alternate sources of supply.
Since the heart of BioteQ's BioSulphideŽ technology is the generation of biogenic sulphide reagent for use in the precipitation and recovery of metals, the company is now responding to enquiries from mining companies around the world who are interested in the supply of biogenic sulphide to replace or supplement the existing use of chemical sulphide reagents for their processes.
BioteQ is currently evaluating a number of opportunities to supply sulphide reagent in an "over-the-fence" arrangement for third party mining companies and for its own projects. BioteQ would own and operate the sulphide generating plant at a customer's facility, providing a reliable supply of sulphide reagents at a lower cost.
Biogenic sulphide, produced on demand at site, not only offers significant cost savings and certainty of supply but also provides the additional benefit of improved safety due to the elimination of the transportation, handling and storage required for chemical sulphide reagents.
